Getting Started & Account Setup
Grandstream Home is a mobile application designed to manage Grandstream home and small office devices. It allows users to monitor, configure, and troubleshoot supported routers both locally through Wi-Fi and remotely through Grandstream cloud services, making network management easier for beginners and advanced users alike.
The app is intended for home and small office environments. It simplifies everyday network management tasks while still offering advanced configuration options for users who need deeper control over their routers and network settings.
You can install the app by scanning the QR code located on the SQIG of your purchased Grandstream router or by visiting the official download page. After selecting your operating system (Android or iOS), you’ll be redirected to the appropriate app store to complete the installation.
Yes. The Grandstream Home application supports both Android and iOS platforms and can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple App Store, depending on your device.
Yes. You must create a Grandstream Home account to access device management features, especially for remote (cloud-based) management. Account authentication ensures secure access to your devices and configurations.
The password must meet the following security requirements: at least 8 characters long, including one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character. These requirements help protect the account from unauthorized access.
Yes. After registering, you must verify your email address to activate the account. This step confirms email ownership and helps prevent unauthorized or spam registrations.
Yes. The app supports third-party login using Google accounts on Android devices and Apple accounts on iOS devices. This OAuth-based login removes the need to store passwords directly in the app and improves security.
OAuth login delegates authentication to trusted providers like Google or Apple. It uses secure token-based authentication, supports platform-level security features such as two-factor authentication, and automatically refreshes login sessions when needed.
If you forget your password, you can request a password reset from the login screen. The app sends a time-limited, one-time-use reset password to your registered email address to securely restore access.
Yes. From the account settings, you can update your login credentials. Changing sensitive information may require password verification, email confirmation, or re-authentication to protect your account.
Yes. You can link or unlink third-party accounts from the Account section of the app. Linking allows faster login and can serve as a backup authentication method if you forget your main account password.
The Grandstream Home application supports the following router modules, provided they are running the minimum required firmware version:

Home, Room & Device Organization
A Home is a top-level container used to represent a physical location or environment, such as a house, office, or branch. It helps organize routers and devices under a single logical structure for easier management.
After the first login, the app automatically creates a default Home named “My Home.” Any newly added devices are assigned to this Home unless the user specifies otherwise.
Yes. Users can create multiple Homes to manage routers deployed in different locations, such as separate houses, offices, or customer sites. This is especially useful for users managing multiple networks.
Home configurations are stored in the cloud when remote management is enabled. This allows the same Home and device structure to sync across all devices logged in with the same account.
Rooms are used to organize devices within a Home based on their physical location, such as “Living Room” or “Office.” This makes it easier to identify devices and troubleshoot network issues by area.
Yes. Users can create new Rooms, rename existing ones for clarity, and delete empty Rooms. This allows flexible organization as the physical layout or network setup changes.
Yes. Devices can be moved between Rooms at any time using the edit or long-press options. This helps keep the Home and Room layout accurate if devices are physically relocated.
No. Homes and Rooms are used only for organizational purposes. Changing them does not affect the router’s IP address, SSID, or any network-layer configuration.
Devices can be added using three methods: manual entry of MAC address and password, barcode scanning of the device label, or a guided model-based setup wizard that connects directly to the router’s Wi-Fi.
Manual entry is useful when you already have the device’s MAC address and initial password. It requires accurate input and is best suited for users who prefer direct configuration.
Barcode scanning automatically reads the MAC address and initial password from the device label. This reduces typing errors and speeds up the device addition process, especially when managing multiple devices.
The model-based wizard provides a guided, step-by-step setup process. It connects the phone to the router’s default Wi-Fi and helps complete initial registration and basic configuration without manually entering device details.
Client Management & Parental Control
Client devices are organized into three lists: Online Clients, Offline Clients, and Blocklisted Clients. This structure helps users quickly identify which devices are active, inactive, or denied network access.
For each client, the app displays details such as the IP address, MAC address, and hostname. This information helps identify devices and manage network access more effectively.
Yes. You can move any client device to the blocklist, which prevents it from reconnecting to the network and accessing the internet.
Yes. The app allows you to block network access to offline clients as well. This ensures they cannot reconnect when they come back online.
Parental Control is used to manage and restrict internet usage for selected client devices. It allows users to define access times, session limits, and content restrictions for better control of connected devices.
You can add a device to Parental Control by selecting the client and using the Parental Control option. From there, you can configure access rules and usage limitations.
You can define allowed internet access times, maximum session duration, and apply app control or web category control to limit access to specific websites.
Yes. The app allows you to add usage time per device and restrict internet access based on defined time limits for each day.
Yes. You can block a device from accessing the internet for a specific day using the Parental Control options, without removing the device entirely.
Yes. By selecting “online today,” you can view browsing history, including accessed and blocked websites, for devices under Parental Control.
Yes. Existing Parental Control rules can be modified or removed at any time, allowing flexible management as usage needs change.
If the option is set to “Deny,” devices that are not added to Parental Control will not have internet access. This allows strict control over which devices can use the network.
Device Monitoring, Notifications & Diagnostics
You can view a device’s real-time status by selecting it from the device list. The device details page displays operational information and allows access to configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting options.
To view notifications, tap the notification icon in the app interface. A list of device alerts and status updates will appear, helping you stay informed about important events or issues.

Intelligent Detection is a diagnostic tool that analyzes multiple aspects of the network and device performance to help identify connectivity or performance issues.
Under Security Protection, Intelligent Detection evaluates firewall rules and access controls to verify that the network is protected against unauthorized access.
It checks the health of the WAN link and verifies that physical and logical connections are working correctly, ensuring the router has proper internet access.
Connection Rate shows the negotiated speed and link status of each network port. It also displays the connection status and speed of any connected sub-routers in the network.
Signal Quality reflects the stability and quality of the wireless channel. It helps identify issues such as interference or unstable Wi-Fi channels that may affect performance.
Yes. Intelligent Detection can highlight issues related to signal quality, connection rate, or network connectivity, guiding users toward corrective actions such as repositioning the router.
Yes. The app supports both local management through direct Wi-Fi connections and remote management through Grandstream cloud services, allowing full access whether you are on-site or away.
You should ensure that the device’s network connection is working correctly. Remote management depends on a stable internet connection before cloud access can function properly.
Wi-Fi, Mesh, Advanced Settings & Troubleshooting
The app allows users to enable or disable Wi-Fi, change the SSID and password, adjust security settings, hide the SSID, and share Wi-Fi access using a QR code for easy connection.
You can display a Wi-Fi QR code from the Wi-Fi settings page. Guests can scan the QR code to connect automatically without manually entering the password.
Guest Wi-Fi creates a separate, isolated wireless network specifically for guest users. It helps protect the main network by keeping guest traffic separate and controlled.
The app supports two mesh types: Wired Mesh, which uses Ethernet cables for stable connections, and Wireless Mesh, which connects sub-routers over Wi-Fi for flexible coverage expansion.
You can add a mesh device by opening Mesh Settings and tapping the Add icon. The setup wizard guides you through selecting either wired or wireless mesh and completing the pairing process.
Yes. Once added, sub-routers appear under the main router. You can monitor them and perform actions such as restarting devices or turning LED indicators on or off.
Users can configure WAN connection types such as DHCP or Static IP, manage WAN port switching, and customize DNS server settings to improve performance and reliability.
Yes. The app allows manual Wi-Fi channel selection to reduce interference and improve signal quality, especially in crowded wireless environments.
Wi-Fi 5 compatibility should only be enabled if older client devices require it. Most modern devices support Wi-Fi 6, and enabling Wi-Fi 5 compatibility may reduce overall network performance.
Users can check for new firmware versions, manually upgrade firmware using a file, or enable automatic updates to keep routers secure and up to date.
A factory reset can be performed from the Router Reset option in the app. This restores the router to default settings and is useful for troubleshooting or transferring device ownership.
