GVC3212 – FAQ

This Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document provides concise answers and guidance for using the Grandstream video conferencing endpoint, the GVC3212. This FAQ is intended to assist administrators and users in resolving common issues and understanding key features.

Product Overview & Specifications

Video: H.264 BP/MP/HP, video resolution up to 720p 30fps; Content resolution up to 720P and up to 5fps; BFCP; anti-flickering, auto focus, and auto-exposure.

Audio: Full-band Opus, wide-band G.722, G.711, AEC, ANS, AGC, Noise Shield, PLC, CNG/VAD.

No, the GVC3212 does not support PoE.

Yes, users can find the recording files on their IPVideoTalk account.

– For HD resolution, the minimum bandwidth required is 1 Mbps (p2p), and 2 Mbps if sharing content.

Up to 720p resolution at 30fps, and 720p at 5fps for content sharing.


Setup & Registration

You can use the GVC3212 and the Wi-Fi Display feature with devices on Android 4.4+ and Windows 8.1+. Please note that this feature is not supported by iOS devices.

No, the GVC3212 does not support EHS headsets.

GVC3212 can be registered with the IPVideoTalk cloud service. Please refer to www.ipvideotalk.com


Calling Features

During the conference call, click on the “More” button, then click “Record”.

No, the GVC3212 does not support recording, screen-sharing, or webcam during a 4K resolution call. The second HDMI port does not allow users to plug in another HDMI device during the 4K call.

DND can be enabled by pressing the Mute button from the remote control or clicking on DND from Web UI (on the upper right). To disable DND, simply press the Mute button again.

No, the GVC3212 does not support local three-way conference. To initialize a three-way conference, a third-party app, such as IPVideoTalk, is required.


Configuration, Provisioning, & Firmware

GVC3212 supports firmware upgrade via the following methods:

  • Method 1: Manually upload the firmware file to the web UI to upgrade.
  • Method 2: Upgrade via TFTP firmware server.  
  • Method 3: Upgrade via HTTP/HTTPS firmware server.
  • Method 4: Upgrade via USB flash drive with the .bin firmware file in it.

On the GVC3212 LCD menu, please go to Applications > Backup, and press the red button to create a new backup. Please note that the backup file location can be changed from internal to a USB flash drive by accessing Backup settings.

The firmware version can be checked from the Web interface: Status > System Info > System Version.


Troubleshooting & Maintenance

On the Web UI, go to Settings > Security Settings > User password, enter the new password, then save the settings and restart the device.

GVC3212 can detect the HDMI device when it’s plugged into GVC3212 on the HDMI port. However, the HDMI device cannot cast audio output. Users can select other audio devices by selecting “Audio Priority”. Users can select the priority for connected audio devices to GVC3212 as the input/output for audio during a call or media.

A) If “Auto” is selected, the GVC3212 will automatically detect if it is connected to USB or HDMI. If two or three of the above devices are connected to GVC3212, the priority of the audio input and output is USB, and HDMI from the highest to lowest. The default setting is “Auto”.

B) If “USB” is selected, the connected USB device will be used for audio input/output.

C) If “HDMI” is selected, GVC built-in MIC will be used for audio input while HDMI will be used for audio output.

D) If “Built-in Speaker” is selected, the GVC3212 built-in speaker will be used for audio output while for audio input the “Built-in Speaker” mode can be used if the GVC3212 device is connected with the monitor in a short distance. The device with priority “Bluetooth->USB->HDMI->Gooseneck MIC->Built-in MIC” will be used.

E) If “Gooseneck MIC” is selected, the connected Gooseneck MIC will be used for audio input while for audio output the device with priority “USB>HDMI>Built-in MIC” will be used.

Users can factory reset GVC3212 either from Web UI > Maintenance > Upgrade > Advanced Settings, and scroll down to click on the Reset button.

The GVC3212 can also be reset to factory settings using the display screen by going to Settings > Advanced > Factory Reset

The remote control has two connection modes:

A) Infrared Connection: Infrared signals are automatically used to connect the remote control to GVC3212. Users need to keep the two devices in front of each other without any substantial obstruction in between. The LED on the remote control is green when using the infrared connection mode.
