All models in the GXV34x0 series run on Android 14. This enables a familiar interface, support for Android-based applications, and access to built-in system tools such as Contacts, Call History, File Manager, Settings, Browser, Clock, Voicemail, Calculator, Recorder, and GS Market. The operating system also supports deployment, development, and provisioning control for Android 14-compliant applications.
Each model offers a high-resolution capacitive touch screen, with different sizes depending on the device. Getting Started & Device Setup
Each model includes the main phone unit, handset, phone cord, Ethernet cable, 12V power adapter, and a Quick Installation Guide. The GXV3480 and GXV3470 also include a screen cleaning cloth, and the GXV3470 additionally includes a wall mount. The GXV3450 includes a phone stand instead. Users should check packaging contents before installation and notify their system administrator if anything is missing.
To install the device, connect the handset with the phone cord, plug the LAN port into a network switch or router using Ethernet, and then connect the 12V power supply unless PoE/PoE+ is used. The device will boot and display initialization or firmware upgrade screens. Once the home screen appears, users can configure network mode (DHCP, static IP, PPPoE) from the touchscreen or web interface.
Yes, each model supports PoE/PoE+, but when powered by PoE, certain peripheral ports such as USB and HDMI may be disabled. To enable full functionality, including HDMI input/output and USB storage or peripherals, users should power the device using the included 12V adapter or PoE+ rather than PoE Class 3.
The GXV34x0 uses a capacitive touch interface that supports tapping, long-pressing, sliding, flicking, dragging, double tapping, and pinch zoom. These gestures allow users to select options, scroll pages, manipulate widgets, enter text on the onscreen keyboard, resize items, and navigate applications—similar to an Android tablet experience.
From the idle home screen, users can swipe from right to left to open the application list. This displays installed applications such as Contacts, Call History, File Manager, Browser, Voicemail, Recorder, and GS Market. The menu reflects both built-in apps and any additional compatible Android applications installed on the device.
Users can press and hold an empty area on the idle screen or press the Menu key to enter desktop management. From here, they can add widgets (clock, contacts, programmable keys), change wallpapers, add/delete home screens, rearrange shortcuts, group apps into folders, and resize certain widgets. Desktop editing can be disabled via the GUI Config Tool if required by administrators.
Users can long-press on an empty desktop space or press the Menu key and choose “Wallpaper.” Wallpapers can be selected from system defaults or the Local Gallery. When selecting a local image, the preview frame can be adjusted before applying. This allows personal branding or corporate-standard backgrounds.
From the widgets menu, users can long-press the Programmable Key widget in the desired size (1xN, 2xN, or 3xN) and place it on the desktop. Pressing the modify icon allows configuration of options such as speed dial, BLF, transfer, intercom, paging, call park, dial prefix, DTMF, and speed conference. Indicator icons show account and feature status dynamically.
Users swipe horizontally to move between screens. To set a primary home screen, press the Menu key to zoom out the desktop thumbnails and tap the Home icon on the desired screen. Additional screens can be added or deleted from this view. A screen must be empty of widgets and shortcuts before it can be deleted.
Sliding down from the top of the screen reveals system indicators including network status,
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, audio mode, call forward, headset status, alarm, silent mode, voicemail, HDMI connection, storage alerts, and more. Pulling down twice (or once with two fingers) provides extended quick-settings such as brightness, call forward toggles, and Wi-Fi network selection. Notifications can be tapped for details or dismissed by sliding.
The GXV3480 and GXV3470 provide hardware keys for Home, Menu, Back, and Volume. The GXV3450 includes additional dedicated keys such as Conference, Transfer, Dial/Send, Mute, Earphone, Speaker, and keypad dialing. a specific key combination during boot initiates a hardware factory reset when the LED indicator turns green.

SIP CALLING, TELEPHONY
The MWI LED in the upper-right corner provides visual status alerts for calls, voicemail, system state, and upgrade activity. Fast flashing indicates an incoming call, while solid red appears during active calls, conferences, and when the screensaver is on. Slow flashing means a call is on hold, and regular flashing notifies missed calls, new voicemail, or new SIP messages. It can also show solid red for high memory usage, full contact capacity, or network disconnection. Fast flashing also appears during firmware upgrades, and the LED remains off when the phone is in normal idle state.
Users can register accounts either through the LCD menu by navigating to Settings → Advanced → Account Settings, or through the web GUI under Account → Account Settings. Required fields include Account Active, Account Name, SIP Server, SIP User ID, Authentication ID, and Authentication Password. Once saved, the registration status appears on the main screen.
The dial screen can be accessed in multiple ways: lifting the handset, tapping an account in the account widget, or tapping the call icon from idle screen shortcuts. If video calls are disabled in settings, only the audio call option will be available on the dial interface.
After entering the dial screen, users select the account to dial with, enter digits using the keypad, and tap either the audio call icon or video call icon. If no key is pressed, the phone automatically places the call after the default four-second timeout. The timeout value and the option to use # as a send key can be modified in the web GUI under Account → Call Settings. Matching call history and contacts appear automatically while dialing.
When a previous dialed call exists, entering the dial screen displays a list of dialed numbers on the left side. Tapping an entry loads it into the dialing field, and users can select either audio or video call to redial using the same SIP account originally used.
Users can open Contacts from the idle screen and scroll to select a contact, tapping the audio or video call icon. Call History can also be opened from the bottom of the idle screen, showing All, Missed, Outgoing, and Incoming logs. Selecting an entry allows users to view more details or choose audio or video calling. Icons indicate whether previous calls were audio or video.
For audio calls, users tap Answer or lift the handset. For video calls, options include answering with audio only or with both video and audio. Users may also enable Preview mode (if supported by their SIP server), allowing them to view the remote video feed before deciding to accept or reject the call.
Using the BroadWorks SCA guide, add the GXV34x0 as an SCA device in BroadWorks and include the necessary SCA parameters in provisioning. The phone will then share lines with other devices.
Yes. The phones integrate with BroadWorks Call Center features, allowing agents to log in/out of queues, check call states, and use call center-specific soft keys for queue control.
Flexible Seating allows temporary login on shared devices. Users enter their BroadWorks credentials on the GXV34x0 Broadworks app to activate their profile. All calls and settings apply until the user logs out.
Yes. The phones support Zoom Phone when using the dedicated Zoom Phone app. Users can make and receive Zoom calls, check voicemail, transfer calls, and use Zoom’s directory features.
Yes. Enter the target’s IP address using the supported direct IP dial format. Both devices must allow direct IP calling for the connection to establish.
The GXV34x0 provides call waiting alerts, showing caller name and number while the current call remains active. Users can answer the second call, placing the original call on hold, or reject it to maintain the existing call. For incoming video calls, users may choose to answer with audio only or full video.
Users can place a call on hold using the Hold softkey and resume using Unhold. The Mute button silences the microphone and toggles back with Unmute. Calls can be recorded locally from More → Record, and recordings are stored in the Recorder app. Audio channels can be switched among handset, speaker, RJ9 headset, Bluetooth headset, and 3.5mm earphone by tapping the audio channel softkey—Bluetooth automatically becomes active when connected.
The phone supports blind transfer and attended transfer. During a call, users tap More → Transfer, select the transfer mode, enter a destination, and complete the process. For attended transfers, users can speak with the transfer target before completing or canceling the transfer. Transfers can also be performed using MPK keys, and behavior follows the default transfer mode set in Phone Settings → Call Settings.
The GXV3480 supports up to 12-way audio and 3-way full HD video conferencing, while the GXV3470 and GXV3450 support up to 10-way audio and 3-way HD video conferencing. Conferences can be initiated from the dial screen, during an active call, or using the conference key. Users can add participants, remove them, receive join/exit notifications, hold/resume the conference, or enable Auto Conference, which automatically merges existing calls into a conference.
Multicast paging allows one-way audio announcements to multiple phones on the same LAN. Senders configure multicast paging through Programmable Keys with a multicast address and port. Listeners must configure listening addresses under Phone Settings → Multicast Paging → Multicast Listening and reboot to apply. you can add a widget after to allow enabling or disabling multicast listening.
When voicemail is received, the MWI LED flashes, and the voicemail icon appears in the status bar. Users tap the Message application, select the account, and the phone automatically dials the voicemail access number. The voicemail number is configured under Account → SIP → Voice Mail Access Number in the web GUI.
One-Click Configuration is a built-in application on GXV34xx devices that allows users to quickly provision a SIP account from a GCC60XX system without manually entering full account credentials. When the GXV34xx boots on the same network as the GCC601X, the app becomes available and can automatically register the extension by using a unique ID code generated in the UC Endpoints module of the GCC. Once the correct code is entered, the GCC60XX provisions the assigned account directly to the GXV phone, simplifying setup and eliminating the need for manual SIP parameter entry.
To provision the phone, users first create an extension in the GCC60XX UC Endpoints module, where a unique 6-digit ID code is automatically generated, or a custom 6-digit PIN can be provided instead. The user then opens the One-Click Configuration app on the GXV34xx and enters the provided ID code. The app validates the code, and once confirmed, the GCC60XX automatically provisions the extension to the device. For security protection, if the wrong code is entered repeatedly, the provisioning process is temporarily suspended for 15 minutes to prevent unauthorized access attempts. Users may also import up to 10 extensions using an Excel file, which automatically generates ID codes for each entry.
Video Calling & Multimedia
From the dial screen, users enter the phone number and then tap the Video Call icon to initiate a video session. The selected SIP account appears in green, and if the digit matches call history or contacts, suggestions are displayed. If the Enable Video Call option is disabled in the phone settings, the Video Call button will not appear, and only audio calls can be made. Users may also long-press “0” to enter “+” when dialing international video calls.
The camera is mounted on an adjustable hinge. Gently tilt it up or down to align the frame during a video call.
Yes. You can disable the camera through call settings or by using the physical privacy shutter if the model includes one.
Yes. During an active audio call, users can tap More → Video On to send a video start request to the other party. If the far end supports video, the call upgrades to a video session. If video calling is disabled on the GXV34x0, the option is hidden, but users may still accept an incoming video request. When receiving a video request, the phone prompts with “Do you want to accept video?” and selecting Yes enables video mid-call.
Once a video call is active, tapping the screen twice switches the video display to full-screen mode. To exit full-screen mode, users tap the on-screen option shown at the bottom of the display. This allows users to switch between immersive video viewing and standard call controls.
Yes. During an established video call, users can add a virtual background by tapping More → Virtual Background, selecting a background from the available list, and confirming with OK. The selected background is then applied live during the video session, allowing visual customization without altering call flow or performance.
Yes. When a conference initiated from a Wave client includes a shared whiteboard, GXV34x0 users can view real-time drawing updates directly on the device. Users can switch between the whiteboard view and the standard call interface by tapping the designated on-screen icon, allowing active participation while still monitoring call details.
Users can configure the video frame rate for SIP video calls under Phone Settings → Video Settings, with available options of 5, 15, 25, or 30 frames per second. The default setting is 15 frames per second. Higher frame rates provide smoother motion but require more bandwidth, and if sufficient bandwidth is not available, video quality may degrade due to packet loss. Lower frame rates reduce bandwidth consumption and may be preferable in constrained network environments.
The GXV34x0 offers three Video Display Mode options: Original proportion, Cut proportionally, and Add black margin proportionally. Original proportion keeps the video’s native ratio but may stretch or compress if it differs from the phone’s screen shape. Cut proportionally (the default) crops the video to match the phone’s display ratio. Add black margin proportionally maintains the original aspect while adding black space where needed. Users can select the mode based on preference for full coverage, accurate proportions, or visual framing.
Networking & Connectivity
The GXV34x0 allows users to select IP Mode to determine which Internet protocol is used. When both IPv4 and IPv6 are enabled, the phone attempts to connect using the preferred protocol first and automatically switches to the other if the initial attempt fails. This ensures network connectivity regardless of which protocol is available in the environment.
Under Ethernet Settings, users can select DHCP to obtain network parameters automatically, which is the default mode. Choosing Static IP requires manual entry of IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS servers. PPPoE mode is used when authentication is required by the provider, and users must enter a PPPoE account ID and password to obtain network access.
IPv6 can be configured as Auto-configured, which lets the phone obtain an address automatically, or as Static, which requires manual entry of address, prefix length, gateway, and DNS values. An optional IPv6 Privacy Address mode allows the device to carry multiple IPv6 addresses. However, enabling privacy mode may cause registration issues with some servers such as BroadSoft and can result in failed responses.
802.1x mode can be enabled from the Ethernet settings to authenticate the phone at the network level. The GXV34x0 supports EAP-MD5, EAP-TLS, and EAP-PEAP, depending on the required security method. When enabled, additional fields appear for identity, secret, CA certificate, or user certificate, depending on the mode selected. The feature is disabled by default.
Wi-Fi can be enabled from the Network menu, where users can choose between 2.4G, 5G, or dual-band mode. Available SSIDs appear automatically, and users can select one and enter a password. If the network is hidden or not listed, the user can tap Add Network and manually enter the SSID, security mode, and password. Static IP and proxy options are also available within the Wi-Fi settings.
OpenVPN can be enabled from the Network Settings, but it requires full configuration before it becomes active, including server address, port, CA file, client certificate, and client key. Users must also configure their SIP account to use OpenVPN under NAT Traversal. The phone supports Simple mode for basic settings and Professional mode, which allows uploading a custom configuration file.
Under Advanced Network Settings, users can configure Layer 3 QoS parameters for SIP signaling, audio RTP, and video H.264 traffic. The default values are 26 for SIP, 46 for audio, and 34 for video. These values define IP Precedence, Diff-Serv, or MPLS priority markings and help optimize traffic handling across the network.
The PC Port Mode controls how traffic passes between the LAN port and the PC port. When set to Mirrored, LAN traffic is duplicated to the PC port, allowing packet capture by connecting a PC. VLAN Tag and Priority settings allow assigning Layer 2 VLAN identifiers and priority values to traffic forwarded to the PC port. Matching VLAN configuration on the connected device is required for proper operation.
Android System, Apps & Productivity
Yes. You can use supported marketplaces or install APK files directly. Apps must be compatible with the Android version running on the phone.
ActionURL allows the GXV34x0 to send a predefined URL to the SIP server when specific phone events occur, such as incoming calls, missed calls, or registration changes. Each event can include dynamic variables that are automatically replaced with real device values before being sent. The configuration is done through the phone’s web GUI, and the list of supported events and variables is referenced in the Administration Guide and the ActionURL User Guide.
The GXV34x0 can connect to a door system and display real-time video and audio from the door unit, while providing an on-screen button to send the access password and open the door. Configuration is performed from the Web GUI under Value-added Service. Once set, incoming calls from the door system appear full screen, and users can interact with them directly.
The GXV34x0 supports two connection methods: peering mode (where no SIP server is used) and SIP server mode, which routes the call signaling through a SIP platform. Ethernet is enabled with DHCP by default, and users can modify settings from Settings → Network → Ethernet Settings. The phone supports DHCP, Static IP, and PPPoE. Static mode requires manual entry of IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS values, while PPPoE requires account credentials to obtain an address from a PPPoE server.
The GXV34x0 supports Bluetooth 5 for file transfers, contact sharing, Bluetooth headsets, media audio, and call switching using hands-free profiles. Bluetooth is enabled from Settings → Features → Bluetooth or via the Status Bar. Pairing requires making the phone discoverable, selecting the device from the scan list, and confirming a passkey or passcode.
HDMI output is supported on the GXV3470 and GXV3480 to mirror the phone’s LCD on an external display. HDMI input is supported only on the GXV3480 to display an external presentation source. Dynamic Lock automatically locks the device whenever its paired Bluetooth device, such as a mobile phone, goes out of range. The feature is enabled under Settings → Features → Dynamic Lock, and requires both a configured screen lock (e.g., pattern) and a paired Bluetooth device. Once enabled, the phone locks automatically when the paired device disconnects.
Guest Login allows temporary SIP registration using an Account ID, Password, and optional PIN. It is enabled from Web UI → Phone Settings → General Settings → Guest Features. Administrators can assign timeout duration and define SIP domains for authentication. After rebooting, the guest login screen appears, allowing login via QR code or manual entry, with logout performed from LCD Settings.
Emergency numbers are configured from the Web GUI under Application → Contacts → General Settings. When the GXV34x0 is locked, users can tap “EMERGENCY” on the lock screen to open a restricted dial interface showing only approved emergency numbers. The phone is not pre-configured for emergency services, and users must ensure proper SIP service provisioning and testing.
SDK-Based Configuration allows administrators or developers to control and modify phone settings programmatically rather than through the Web UI or provisioning files. Maintenance, Security, Provisioning & Troubleshooting
Firmware upgrades can be performed manually via upload, remotely through TFTP/HTTP/HTTPS servers, or automatically based on scheduled intervals. Users may configure the firmware server path, authentication credentials, prefix/postfix filters, and upgrade prompts. The default upgrade mode is HTTPS. The phone can also detect updates, prompt before upgrading, or skip checks based on admin preference.
The Config Server Path defines where the phone downloads configuration files via TFTP, HTTP, or HTTPS. When the GXV34x0 boots, it attempts to retrieve configuration files in a specific order: cfgMAC, then cfgMODEL, then cfg.xml, replacing variables such as $PN and $MAC automatically. This allows service providers to host global, model-specific, or device-specific configurations centrally.
The phone can authenticate configuration files if the “Authenticate Config File” option is enabled. When active, the config file must include the correct P1 admin password. If the credentials do not match, the phone rejects the configuration and displays a prompt indicating firmware/config authentication failure, requiring verification of HTTP/HTTPS usernames and passwords under Maintenance → Upgrade.

System Diagnosis includes Syslog, Logcat, One-click Debugging, Core Dump, Record, Traceroute, Ping, and NSLookup. These tools allow administrators to capture logs, filter events, run network analysis, verify connectivity, generate debugging packages, or collect audio samples to isolate call quality, registration, or software crash problems.
One-click Debugging allows administrators to select debugging elements—such as system logs, packet captures, crash logs, or ANR logs—then automatically collect them into a single package. If enabled, captured traces can include encryption keys to decrypt TLS packets. This simplifies submitting diagnostic data to IT teams or support engineers.
Factory reset can be performed via LCD menu, via Web GUI under Maintenance → Upgrade → Advanced Settings, or via hardware keys (1+9 for GXV3450 or reset pin for GXV3470/GXV3480). LCD/Web GUI resets are used when the interface is accessible, while hardware reset is recommended when the phone becomes unresponsive due to configuration corruption or incompatible third-party apps.
Event Notification allows administrators to assign URLs that the phone will send to a SIP server when specific events occur. Dynamic variables such as MAC, local number, or call state are inserted automatically. Supported events include bootup, incoming/outgoing calls, transfers, DND toggles, registration, missed calls, hold/unhold, forward on/off, and log in/out events.
The phone can automatically obtain provisioning server paths, VLAN tags, priority values, and upgrade configuration through DHCP Options 43, 66, 120, 150, and 160. When set to Prefer, fallback when failed, the device tries DHCP-supplied values first and reverts to manually configured servers if unavailable. This enables plug-and-play deployment in managed VoIP environments.
