It allows users to host and join HD video conferences globally using Grandstream video conferencing devices, web browsers, mobile apps, or phones without requiring on-premise conferencing infrastructure.
No. IPVideoTalk is fully cloud-hosted, meaning there is no on-premise infrastructure to deploy, manage, or maintain. All conferencing services are delivered through Grandstream’s global cloud platform.
Users can join meetings using:
- Grandstream GVC3200, GVC3202, GVC3210, GVC3212, GVC3220 devices
- PC or Mac web browsers via WebRTC
- Mobile phones and tablets using the IPVideoTalk mobile app
- Phones dialing in via VoIP or PSTN (depending on plan)

Accounts, Plans, IPVideoTalk ID & Portal Management
Yes. Users can edit the Display Name in the IPVideoTalk settings. This name is shown to other participants when the user places or receives calls using the IPVideoTalk ID.
An IPVideoTalk ID is a built-in SIP-based cloud account assigned to each GVC device. It consists of multiple digits (for example, “8200000”) and is used to make calls, host meetings, and join IPVideoTalk conferences over the Internet.
Yes. Every supported GVC device comes with a built in pre-installed IPVideoTalk ID, as well as a pre–installed IPVideoTalk application, allowing users to start using IPVideoTalk services without creating a separate SIP account.
When the IPVideoTalk ID is activated and registered successfully, the account icon on the GVC device’s status bar turns green, indicating the device is connected to the IPVideoTalk cloud service.
To activate or deactivate the IPVideoTalk ID:
- On the GVC device, go to LCD Menu → Applications → IPVideoTalk. ( Skip this step for the GVC3212 model, since the IPVideoTalk application starts by default when turning on the unit)
- Open Settings.
- Enable or disable Account Active.
- Save the changes using the yellow shortcut key on the remote control.
Yes. Users must subscribe to an IPVideoTalk plan to use cloud conferencing services. Different plans offer different features, capacities, and limits.
IPVideoTalk offers three subscription plans to address different conferencing needs:
Basic (Free) Plan
Designed for light usage and small meetings. It supports HD video and audio, up to 50 participants, and 10 minutes per meeting. It includes screen sharing, chat, reports/analytics, and recording, with 512 MB of cloud recording storage. Meetings can be started or scheduled directly from the IPVideoTalk Web Portal without requiring a GVC device.
Pro Plan
Intended for growing teams and more frequent collaboration. It supports 1080p Full HD video, up to 100 participants, and extended meeting durations of up to 6 hours. The plan includes 2 GB of cloud recording storage, VoIP dial-in, and group account administration and billing.
Business Plan
Built for organizations with advanced conferencing requirements. It supports up to 150 participants, 1080p Full HD video, and 5 GB of cloud recording storage. This plan also includes VoIP and toll dial-in from landlines or mobile phones, along with group account administration and extended meeting duration.
Key differences include:
- Maximum participants: 50 (Basic), 100 (Pro), 150 (Business).
- Video quality: HD (Basic), 1080p Full HD (Pro & Business).
- Cloud recording storage: 512 MB (Basic), 2 GB (Pro), 5 GB (Business).

Yes. The Free Basic Plan allows users to start instant meetings and schedule meetings directly from the IPVideoTalk Web Portal without requiring a GVC device.
The IPVideoTalk Portal is a web-based management interface used to:
- Register and manage admin accounts
- Link GVC devices
- Schedule meetings and webinars
- Manage cloud contacts
- View meeting history and recordings
Any user can register an admin account on the IPVideoTalk Portal. Once registered, the system automatically assigns a Free Basic Plan to the admin account.
An admin can link multiple GVC32XX devices to a single enterprise admin account through the IPVideoTalk Portal, allowing centralized management of devices, contacts, and scheduled meetings.
Yes. The portal allows administrators to manage cloud-based private company contacts, which are automatically synchronized to linked GVC devices for easy access during meetings and calls.
Joining, Hosting & Managing Meetings
Users can join an IPVideoTalk meeting using:
- GVC devices.
- Web browsers via WebRTC.
- IPVideoTalk Mobile App.
- Phones dialing in via VoIP or PSTN (depending on plan).
Users can join via WebRTC by:
- Opening https://meetings.ipvideotalk.com in a supported browser.
- Enter the Meeting ID, Name, and Email.
- Enter the meeting password if required.
Alternatively, users can click the meeting link provided in the invitation email.
Supported browsers include:
- Firefox 52 or later.
- Chrome 52 or later.
- Opera 39 or later.
- Microsoft Edge 40.15063 or later.
- Safari 11 or later.
Internet Explorer and older Safari versions require a plugin and do not natively support WebRTC features.
Yes. Users can host meetings directly from GVC devices by starting an instant meeting or by joining a scheduled meeting as the host. The GVC device becomes the meeting host by default.
To start an instant meeting:
- On the GVC device, go to LCD Menu → Call.
- Enter another IPVideoTalk ID or select one from contacts (optional).
- Press the Dial button
Users can also start an instant meeting without dialing anyone, and the system will automatically assign a meeting ID.
Yes. Meetings can be scheduled using the IPVideoTalk Portal or directly from the IPVideoTalk application on a GVC device. Scheduled meetings are automatically provisioned to the host device.
To join a meeting on a GVC device:
- Open the dialing interface.
- Enter the Meeting ID or the host’s IPVideoTalk ID.
- Press the Dial button.
- Enter the meeting PIN if prompted.
If the meeting status is Not Started, the call will fail. Users must wait until the host starts the meeting or until the scheduled start time is reached.
Meeting hosts can:
- Add or remove participants.
- Mute or unmute participants.
- Mute all participants.
- End the meeting.
- Control layouts and presentations.
These controls are available on GVC devices and supported WebRTC clients.
Yes, unless muted by the host. If the host mutes a participant, only the host can unmute them. Participants can use Raise Hand to request to be unmuted.
The Raise Hand feature allows participants to signal the host when they need help or want to speak. The host sees the request in the participants’ list and can respond accordingly.
Only the meeting host can configure layouts, including:
- Tile (Auto).
- Focus 1+N (one main speaker with smaller participant views).
- Speaker mode (one participant in full screen).
Participants can switch layouts only if the host allows it.
If the host leaves without ending the meeting and the meeting is still in progress, other participants can continue to join and remain in the meeting.
Yes. If the IPVideoTalk ID on a GVC device already has an active session, users cannot start a new instant meeting or host another meeting until the current session ends.
Recording, Webinars & Collaboration Features
Yes. IPVideoTalk supports both local recording on GVC devices and cloud recording, depending on the device type and the subscribed plan.
During an IPVideoTalk meeting on a GVC device:
- Click the Record option on the call interface or use the remote control shortcut.
- Audio and video are recorded locally on the device.
- Recording can be stopped at any time, and files are saved automatically.
Recorded files can later be played, exported, renamed, or deleted from the device.
Yes. Each local recording file is limited to 1.9 GB. If this size is exceeded, the system automatically creates a new recording file. If storage becomes full, users will receive a storage warning.
Cloud recording stores meeting recordings on the IPVideoTalk cloud server. To start it:
- Join an IPVideoTalk meeting.
- Open the recording menu.
- Select Start cloud recording.
All participants will see a cloud recording indicator during the meeting.
Cloud recording requires:
- A linked GVC device or account.
- An IPVideoTalk plan that includes cloud recording.
- Sufficient available cloud storage under the enterprise account.
Cloud recordings are stored on the IPVideoTalk cloud server and can be viewed or downloaded through the IPVideoTalk Portal after logging in.
A meeting allows all participants to interact freely, while a webinar introduces roles such as host, panelists, and participants, with controlled speaking, video sharing, and interaction permissions.
Yes. Webinars can be scheduled either through the IPVideoTalk Portal or directly from a GVC32XX device. Scheduled webinars remain in a preparation state until the start time.
The webinar preparation session allows the host and panelists to join up to 1 hour before the scheduled start time to test audio, video, and presentations. Participants remain in the waiting room until the webinar starts.
IPVideoTalk supports:
- Screen and application sharing.
- Whiteboard sharing and drawing tools.
- Document sharing (PDF only).
- Group chat and private chat.
- Raise Hand and Q&A (webinars only).
Yes. Only PDF documents can be shared. The maximum file size is 20 MB, and documents can contain up to 200 pages.
Yes, if permitted by the presenter. The presenter can allow or prevent other participants from drawing on the shared whiteboard or document during the meeting.
Devices, Contacts, Notifications, Settings & Troubleshooting
IPVideoTalk is supported on Grandstream GVC3200, GVC3202, GVC3212, GVC3210 and GVC3220 video conferencing devices. These devices come with a built-in IPVideoTalk ID and a pre-installed IPVideoTalk application.
A GVC device can be linked using either:
- A device code generated on the GVC device, or
- The device MAC address, which requires confirmation on the device.
Once linked, the device becomes manageable through the IPVideoTalk Portal.
After linking:
- The device appears online in the IPVideoTalk Portal.
- Administrators can manage the device, schedule meetings, and synchronize contacts
- Cloud services, such as recording, become available if included in the plan.
Contacts are centrally managed in the IPVideoTalk Portal and synchronized to linked GVC devices. Users can view contact details and online status, but cannot edit cloud contacts directly on GVC devices.
IPVideoTalk sends notifications for:
- Plan expiration or expiration warnings.
- Firmware upgrade requirements.
- Device authentication requests.
- Cloud system maintenance or upgrades.
- Account status changes (freeze/unfreeze).
Unread notifications are shown by:
- An IPVideoTalk icon in the system status bar.
- A red number badge on the IPVideoTalk application.
- A message counter inside the Notices section.
Users can configure:
- IPVideoTalk ID activation status.
- Display Name.
- Personal Room number and password.
- Service address (official or trial).
- View the current plan and the linked enterprise.
All changes must be saved manually to take effect.
Each GVC device has a Personal Room number that allows users to start instant meetings. Participants can join this room at any time using the Personal Room number and password (if set).
Yes. Users can unlink a device by:
- Going to Applications → IPVideoTalk → Settings → Business.
- Selecting Unlink.
- Confirming the action.
A confirmation notice will be sent to the device after unlinking.
An IPVideoTalk ID may become unusable if:
- The device fails to register with the cloud.
- Network connectivity issues prevent association.
- The IPVideoTalk plan expires.
- The account is frozen due to plan conditions.
Critical messages such as plan expiration, low firmware, or maintenance notices appear on the GVC device’s main screen. Messages are prioritized and automatically cleared once the issue is resolved.
Yes. Grandstream UCM devices can integrate with IPVideoTalk by configuring a SIP trunk between the UCM and the IPVideoTalk server. This allows UCM extensions to dial into IPVideoTalk meetings using audio calls through the PBX.
To integrate IPVideoTalk with a UCM:
- Log in to the IPVideoTalk Portal as an enterprise admin and configure the SIP Trunk server using the UCM’s public IP address.
- Log in to the UCM Web UI and create a VoIP SIP Trunk pointing to the IPVideoTalk server domain.
- Select the correct SIP transport (TCP or TLS) and corresponding port.
- Enable IPVT Mode to ensure proper audio and video handling.
UCM extensions dial into an IPVideoTalk meeting by using a configured dialing prefix followed by the meeting ID.
For example, if the prefix is *99, users dial *99 + Meeting ID to join the active meeting via audio.
This behavior is controlled through Outbound Route pattern rules on the UCM.
UCM clients must:
- Register their SIP accounts with the UCM server.
- Use a SIP transport that matches the trunk configuration (TCP or TLS).
- Enable at least one common audio/video codec supported by both the UCM client and IPVideoTalk.
- Enable “Use First Matching Vocoder in 200OK SDP” for optimal compatibility.
If no common codec exists, calls may fail or experience media issues.
