This Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document provides concise answers and guidance for using the Grandstream video conferencing endpoint, the GVC3210. This FAQ is intended to assist administrators and users in resolving common issues and understanding key features.

Product Overview & Specifications

Video: H264 (Baseline, Main, and High Profiles).

Audio: PCMU/PCMA, G.722, G.722.1, G.729AB, iLBC, G.722.1C and Opus. Please note Opus is supported when using SIP to SIP call and BlueJeans call only.

Yes, MicroSD card must be formatted first as a built-in storage device (so that the MicroSD card cannot be used on other devices). Once inserted, the GVC3210 can format the Micro SD card as internal storage, then the 3rd party applications can be moved in. To format the MicroSD card, go to Settings -> System -> Storage -> “Format as internal”, select “Erase & format” to complete. Users can then move 3rd party applications to the Micro SD card.

No, the GVC3210 currently does not support PoE power supply.

Recording files can be stored three different ways: Locally (using available internal storage), on a Micro SD card, or on a USB plugged into the GVC3210.

Yes, users can download recording files from the GVC3210 web UI->Maintenance->Recording.

– For HD resolution, the minimum bandwidth required is 1 Mbps (p2p), and 2 Mbps if sharing content.

– For full HD Resolution, the minimum bandwidth required is 2 Mbps (p2p), and 4Mbps if sharing content.

– For 4K resolution, the minimum bandwidth required is 4 Mbps.

Up to 4K resolution, 30fps frame rate and 4096Kbps video bit rate can be supported by GVC3210.

Up to 512GB capacity SD card can be supported by GVC3210. The supported format is FAT32 and it does not support ExFAT.

Setup & Registration

You can use the GVC3210 and the Wi-Fi Display feature with devices on Android 4.4+ and Windows 8.1+. Please note that this feature is not supported by IOS devices.

GMD1208 does not work with GVC3210. It only works with GVC3220.

No, the GVC3210 currently does not support EHS headsets.

The GVC3210 supports 4 different account types:

A) SIP account: Can be registered with any SIP Server/IPPBX, or use IP calls with another SIP end device.

B) H.323 account: Can be registered with any Gatekeeper/H.323 Platform, or use IP calls with another H.323 end device.

C) IPVideoTalk account: Can be registered with IPVideoTalk cloud service, please refer to www.ipvideotalk.com.

D) BlueJeans account: Can be used to join BlueJeans meetings without installing BlueJeans application.

Calling Features & Line Management

During the conference call, users can click on * button from remote control to manually start or end the recording.

No, the GVC3210 does not support recording, screen-sharing or web cam during a 4K resolution call. The second HDMI port does not allow users to plug in another HDMI device during the 4K call.

DND can be enabled by pressing Mute button from the remote control, or clicking on DND from Web UI (on the upper right). To disable DND, simply press the Mute button again.

No, the GVC3210 does not support local three-way conference. To initialize a three-way conference, a third-party app, such as IPVideoTalk is required.

Configuration, Provisioning, & Firmware

No, upgrading the Android version on the GVC3210 is not supported.

GVC3210 supports firmware upgrade via the following methods:

  • Method 1: Manually upload firmware file to web UI to upgrade.
  • Method 2: Upgrade via TFTP firmware server.  
  • Method 3: Upgrade via HTTP/HTTPS firmware server.
  • Method 4: Upgrade via USB/MicroSD card with the .bin firmware file in it.

On the GVC3210 LCD menu, please go to Applications -> Backup, and press the red button to create a new backup. Please note the backup file location can be changed from internal to Micro SD card or USB by accessing Backup settings.

The firmware version can be checked from the “Status” page from the Web interface: Status > System Info > System Version.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

From Web UI > Settings > Security Settings > User password, enter new password, then save the settings and restart the device.

GVC3210 can detect the HDMI device when it’s plugged into GVC3210 on HDMI port. However, the HDMI device cannot cast audio output. Users can select other audio devices by selecting “Audio Priority”. Users can select the priority for connected audio devices to GVC3210 as the input/output for audio during call or media.

A) If “Auto” is selected, the GVC3210 will automatically detect if it is connected to USB, Bluetooth, or HDMI. If two or three of the above devices are connected to GVC3210, the priority of the audio input and output is Bluetooth, USB, and HDMI from the highest to lowest. The default setting is “Auto”.

B) If “Bluetooth” is selected, the connected Bluetooth device will be used for audio input/output.

C) If “USB” is selected, the connected USB device will be used for audio input/output.

D) If “HDMI” is selected, GVC built-in MIC will be used for audio input while HDMI will be used for audio output.

E) If “Built-in Speaker” is selected, the GVC3210 built-in speaker will be used for audio output while for audio input the “Built-in Speaker” mode can be used if the GVC3210 device is connected with the monitor in a short distance. The device with priority “Bluetooth->USB->HDMI->Gooseneck MIC->Built-in MIC” will be used.

F) If “Gooseneck MIC” is selected, the connected Gooseneck MIC will be used for audio input while for audio output the device with priority “Bluetooth>USB>HDMI>Built-in MIC” will be used.

Users can factory reset GVC3210 either from the Web UI or LCD menu:

Method 1: From Web UI -> Maintenance -> Upgrade, and scroll down to click on Reset button. Method 2: From LCD Menu -> Settings -> Maintenance -> Factory Reset.

The remote control has two connection modes:

A) Infrared Connection: Infrared signals are automatically used to connect the remote control to GVC3210. Users need to keep the two devices in front of each other without any substantial obstruction in between. The LED on the remote control is green when using infrared connection mode.

B) Bluetooth Connection: If the remote control is not paired with the GVC3210 anymore, press and hold OK button and number 5 button at the same time for about 4 seconds. This will initiate pairing process on the remote control. It will be paired and connected to the GVC3210 shortly.

GVC3210 will use 1080P resolution as the default resolution even if the GVC3210 is connected with the 4K resolution monitor/TV. Users could go to GVC3210 Peripheral -> HDMI 1 out resolution to select the 4K resolution for the current displaying resolution manually.
